Weekends are full of sleeping in, big, hearty breakfasts and leisure. After a long work week, I really look forward to having a peaceful cup of coffee out on my deck and taking in the sun and breeze. Once I get my morning caffeine kick, I usually whip up a pretty awesome breakfast feast for two.
This particular morning, I decided to kick it up a notch and add some candied bacon to the mix. Honestly, who doesn’t LOVE bacon?
Bacon is just delicious. Seriously though. You have a salty, slightly greasy bite of meat and when you cover it in sugar it’s just irresistible! I mean chocolate covered bacon is a popular hit (another easy treat! will post about this for you too 🙂 ) so why would covering it in sugar be any less awesome?

A really quick, hands off recipe you can throw together and walk away or multitask while it cooks. Also, really perfect to add to your brunch when you have guests! A sure way to treat your family and friends!
So, what are you waiting for? Cook that bacon!
TOOLS & GADGETS
- Mixing bowls
- Measuring cups
- Measuring spoons
- 2 cookie sheets
- Parchment paper or aluminum foil
- 1 package of bacon
- 1/2 cup light brown sugar
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
PREHEAT THE OVEN TO 325 DEGREES F.
In a large mixing bowl, add the bacon, brown sugar and pepper. Mix well until slices of bacon are fully coated.
Cover your cookie sheet with aluminum foil and evenly space the bacon slices.
Cover with another sheet of aluminum foil and place second cookie sheet on top. This will sandwich the bacon to help keep it from curling while cooking and hold it’s shape.
Place in center rack and bake 30-40 minutes until the bacon slices are nice and crispy.
Remove strips from sheet and enjoy!!
